WE LIP
The Windsor Essex Local Immigration Partnership (WE LIP) is an initiative of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to encourage communities across Ontario to develop a comprehensive plan for the delivery of newcomer services. The WE LIP initiative represents a process to examine the whole system of services currently available and considers how the system could be enhanced to facilitate access to service and to promote the long-term settlement and integration of immigrant newcomers into Windsor and Essex County.
In November 2008, the City of Windsor was given the lead for the Windsor Essex Local Immigration Partnership (WE LIP) initiative by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), formerly Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).

​The Windsor Essex Local Immigration Partnership (WE LIP) engages stakeholders through information sharing, events and a locally-driven strategic planning process to help make Windsor-Essex a more welcoming and inclusive community. The partnership strives to assist non-settlement service providers and the community in developing a greater understanding of newcomer needs and services.

The Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society is operated by a Board of Directors who support the mission and objectives of the Society and who are dedicated to advocating for quality services for children and families. Board members have a specific interest in the welfare of children and offer individual skills to assist in running the agency. This agency has been in existence since 1899 and is dedicated to strengthening the family unit.
The Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society has a dedicated team of staff with diverse backgrounds and skills. In addition to staff, we also rely on the support of our foster homes and volunteers. This unique group of individuals provides support in all areas of the Society’s work and assist with direct service to children & families.

We are an experienced leader in the development of regional labour market tools, research and guides that save others time, money and effort. These resources, created in close coordination with employment, education and industry partners, are designed to help job seekers, employers, students & educators, as well as the community, make more informed labour market decisions using locally-responsive, data-rich and unbiased resources.
Workforce WindsorEssex currently receives funding under five projects: Windsor Essex Local Immigration Partnership, WE Value, Local Employment Planning Council, WEskills, and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
​Ten years ago, Workforce WindsorEssex (legally Workforce Development Board Windsor Essex) was created as an independent, community-based board in October 2008 as a result of significant foundation work by the City of Windsor, County of Essex, WindsorEssex Economic Development Commission and Province of Ontario.
